The United States of America had been a nation for only 41 years in 1824, when neighbors met on a tract of land in rural Chatham County to establish there a church, in the Holy name of Jesus Christ.
Christian Chapel Christian Church remains an independent church which we believe, should bear no name but Christ’s. Not that we are the only Christians, but that we are Christians only.
“For there is no other name under heaven by which men must be saved” (Acts 4:12)
We are all sinners in God's eye. In accepting that truth, we take our first step toward forgiveness.
God did not send His son into the world to condemn us, but that through Him our sins will be forgiven.
God's forgiveness frees us from sin's guilt and opens our hearts.
It begins, believing in our heart that Jesus is the only way. That He died on the cross for our behalf. That whoever believes in Him will have eternal life.
Salvation is a gift of God’s grace through our faith in Jesus Christ.
Once justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.
We can rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, endurance produces character, and character produces hope.
Hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit
We believe the Bible is the complete and unfailing Word of God, illuminated by the Holy Spirit.
It contains everything needed for Life, Godliness and our stand against the devil's relentless temptations and attacks.
Through God's word fear fades, and faith grows.
Throughout the decades and centuries, our congregation has seen both growth and decline but God has always provided our foundation and his blessings.
As Christian Chapel enters its 3rd century, we are shaping a new beginning. Our leadership stands strong and we invite all to join us – to become part of growing our congregation..

Ephesians 2:13
On February 11th, 2026 the Lord called his servant George Stallings home. A fourth-generation minister of the Gospel, George first answered the call to preach in 1975. For over 40 years, Pastor Stallings has pastored local Christian communities and faithfully served the Christian Chapel congregation since 1977. He is deeply missed.
Before leaving us, Pastor Stallings oversaw the efforts to regrow Christian Chapel Church. Through God’s grace we are blessed with new pastoral leaders who have joined in God’s work, laying the foundation for Christian Chapel’s next 200 years.
“Well done good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master” Matthew 25:23
Now part of Christian Chapel Church for 30 years, Ken brings leadership as Deacon and Trustee. Over the years he also served to lead Sunday Bible Study.
Ken is also President of the Christian Chapel’s Men’s Group which has funded church mission work including a program with school guidance counselors providing for local children in need, an overseas mission, and other community services.
